France Honours Ms. Céline Bak

In presenting this insignia, the French government is honouring the important work Céline has accomplished in the fight against climate change. Through her tireless efforts, she has made it possible for Canada and France to work together to ensure the success of the COP21.
Ms. Bak has contributed to giving a deeper understanding of the roles played by businesses that develop clean and innovative technology in Canada and has shown that the fight against climate change and economic growth can go hand in hand; that they are not diametrically opposed to each other.
Through her work-particularly with the G7 and G20-she continually reminds us of the importance and incredible potential of sustainable finance. This has been one of the priorities of the One Planet Summit, an initiative launched by French President Emmanuel Macron.
